Originally formed in 1642 by King Charles, The Band of the Scots Guards has participated in major world conflicts for nearly three centuries. The distinctive sounds of bagpipes and brass, the high-spirited Scottish sword dances and regimental marching and of course the stately uniforms – a breathtaking grandeur feast for the eyes and ears – have escorted troops into many famous battles, including Ticonderoga, Waterloo, and even the Second Gulf War.
Three armies were involved in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815: a French army under the command of Napoleon Bonaparte; an Anglo-led Allied army under the command of the Duke of Wellington, and a Prussian army under the command of Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, Prince of Wahlstatt.
The collection is always in progress, changes are possible, as pictures are being continuously improved. Buying items on TYPOART store you can be sure that you will receive a limited edition piece crafted with passion and touched by the artists' own hands.
