The Art Deco period has left us with some magnificent architectural, art and industrial masterpieces. Without a doubt, the BMW R7 is one of them. Manufactured in 1934 by engineer Alfred Böning R7 was only ever a prototype – this futuristic bike was ahead of its time and, sadly, never went into production. The R7 is one of the most important, innovative and visually stunning motorcycles ever produced. In 2005 a two year restoration took place at BMW with the expertise in the hands of in house master restorers. This Art Deco treasure will not just be a static display in the BMW Museum, hope, the R7 will be seen on the roads at classic events throughout Europe.
